Where authority
meets audience

I spent twenty years asking questions, calling games, and running a federation's communications. Now I prepare the people on the other side: athletes, coaches, clubs, and the next generation of sports communicators.

"I spent twenty years on both sides of the camera. I know what journalists want to hear, what audiences remember, and what separates those who communicate with authority from those who communicate with discomfort. Twenty years observing that difference teach more than any theory."

What people ask

Who are these services for?

For anyone who communicates professionally in sport: athletes and coaches who face cameras and microphones, clubs and federations that need stronger communications, and students and academics who want to develop serious journalism and media skills. The common thread is sport, but the principles of communication, credibility, and audience are universal.

Can you help prepare for a specific event, like a press conference or TV appearance?

Yes, and this is one of the most effective formats. A single focused session before a high-stakes moment can make a significant difference. The session covers the specific context, likely questions or challenges, messaging strategy, and includes simulation with recorded feedback. Available with 48 hours notice when needed.

Can you work with an entire team or department, not just individuals?

Yes. Group workshops and team programmes are available for communications departments, media teams, athlete groups, and student cohorts. Group sessions work differently from individual coaching: they focus on shared protocols, collective habits, and team-level communication culture, but both formats have value and can be combined.

Do you work with sports organisations that have no dedicated communications team?

Yes, and many of the most useful engagements happen in exactly that context. Building communications capacity from scratch (defining roles, establishing workflows, creating templates and protocols) is one of the most direct applications of seven years building and running the communications department of the Portuguese Basketball Federation.

Can sessions be done remotely, or only in person?

All services are available fully remotely. Video call sessions follow the same structure and rigour as in-person work: the simulation format, feedback process, and preparation materials are identical. For organisations requiring on-site workshops or training days, travel across Europe is available.

Do you provide written materials or follow-up resources after sessions?

Yes. Every session includes written feedback with specific observations and action points. Depending on the type of engagement, this can include communication frameworks, messaging guides, editorial templates, or structured practice exercises. The goal is that the work continues after the session ends.

Do you work with clients outside Portugal?

Yes. The work extends across Europe and internationally, and all services are available fully remotely in Portuguese and English. For in-person sessions or workshops outside Portugal, travel across Europe is available on request.
